Nobody Can Do It Like You

You've got class, personality, and you carry a light that can illuminate any room. We all carry something that no other person can match, because of our unique differences. None of us look the same, walk the same, or speak the same. We're all different with something special to offer the world. I think it's easy to feel like maybe what you have to offer isn't good, but YOU are very much needed in this world. If YOU weren't needed, then you wouldn't be here making your mark on this earth.

I think at some point in life you will run into someone, or people who have an opinion on who you should be. It will almost be as if what you have to offer to the world isn't good enough, and your uniqueness will be the very thing to prevent you from going far. But I've been thinking about who I really am, and what are some of the things I like. Cutting off other peoples ideas of who I should be, and where I should go in life. It's a miserable feeling when your living in a box, because you're trying to conform to other people ideas of you.

I will admit that I have a huge personality and it has caused people to hate my guts. For some years I found myself trying to find ways to diminish my own light to please others. I knew that I made people feel uncomfortable, and even making people twice my age feel uncomfortable. I ALLOWED myself to become small if people were around, because I was afraid of not being accepted for ME. I just couldn't deal with the thought that someone felt small because of my light. What I didn't realize was that wasn't my burden to bare, because that was their own personal issue. You can't force someone to love themselves, and see their own light. We each have to find our internal peace, and find our own light. If someone doesn't see that for themselves, then it's not your place to diminish yourself for them.

My truth will always show as long as I am transparent about who I really am. Growing up as a child I love eating macaroni & Cheese and fried chicken. Man, it seemed like no matter where I went to eat I wanted mac & cheese. But, as I got older I fell in love with chines food, and the wonderful taste it left on my tongue. No matter where I go I love being extremely silly, and medicating myself with laughter when life gets hard. When I open my mouth to speak I don't always use the proper English, but I know that God has given me a gift to write (I have many gifts). No, I'm not what the world considers a skilled writer, but I know that my creativity is amazing.

I was raised by a bunch of country church folks who taught me that nothing was too hard for God to solve, and to remember that no matter where I go act like I got some sense. Yes, my family made it very clear that I couldn't go anywhere showing out. School was something I despised growing up, because I felt that it wasn't for me, so I just didn't take it serious. Not only did I not take school serious, but I didn't think I had the brains for it. My childhood was far from perfect, but my mother did what she could to provide for me.

Yes, there are so many other things about me that would be too much to share on this one post. The point I'm trying to make is be true to who you REALLY are, and where you come from. That's what makes you standout from the others around you. When you come out of that box and allow yourself to be you, life will become so much easier and you will become comfortable. Don't change your personality!! Learn to change the things that will allow you to become a better you in the end. Not a better someone else!!

You're special!!

Jas
