Now That I Have Your Attention

Given a canvas and paint brush, how would you draw your future? You have a chance to draw out your life, and whatever you choose to draw will be the life you live. Would everything sunny? Would you include God? Would you paint rainstorms? Would you draw hurricanes? My guess would be anything negative would be excluded from your painting. Why do we exclude the dark side of life? We want balance in our lives, but balance requires opening to the good and bad. We want God to do extraordinary things, but that is often met with pain. Pain has to be viewed as something needed.
Pain is a tool used by God. Yes, some pain we feel is brought onto us because of the decisions we make. God will often use unexpectant pain to get our attention. Typically when things go wrong in life we turn to whatever deity we serve and ask for guidance. This is why God uses your pain to pull you closer to Him. Pain is an attention-getter that should be appreciated a little more.
Not only do we walk a little closer with God, but we find ourselves. Pain births something new that can’t be denied by those around. We get a chance to recognize our true strength, we get a chance to view life in a different way and operate on another level. This is what God was trying to get out of you from the beginning. God got your attention and forced you to fight back. He got you to see life differently on another level with a closer relationship with Him.
You need the pain before you can reach another level in life. You need God to allow pain to enter because your muscles need to be strengthened. If you choose to ignore God, eventually God will use hurt to get it. God wants all of you and not some of you!!
